Quick answer: You can save your local public IP address on your proxy overview page to authenticate your connection without needing a username and password.
Setup Steps
- Log into your ProxyPorts dashboard.
- Navigate to your proxy overview page.
- Find the IP Whitelist section.
- Enter your public IP address (you can find it by visiting a site like whatismyipaddress.com).
- Click Save.
- Configure your browser or application with the proxy host and port — no username or password needed.
Important Rules
- Maximum 3 IPs — You can whitelist up to 3 IP addresses at a time.
- 30-minute cooldown — After changing a whitelisted IP, you must wait 30 minutes before making another change. Attempting to change sooner will trigger a "Too many requests" error.
- Dynamic IPs — If your ISP changes your IP frequently, IP Whitelisting is not ideal. Use Username & Password authentication instead.
- Mobile hotspots — Mobile carriers use CGNAT, which means your public IP changes frequently and is shared. IP Whitelisting will not work reliably on mobile hotspots.
