Why Some Platforms Block Even Good Proxies
Certain platforms have invested heavily in anti-proxy and anti-bot technology that goes far beyond simple IP checks. If your proxy is blocked on one of these platforms, it does not mean the proxy is broken or defective.
Platforms with Aggressive Anti-Proxy Systems
- Cloudflare — Protects millions of websites. Uses browser fingerprinting, JavaScript challenges, TLS fingerprinting, and behavioral analysis. Many sites behind Cloudflare will challenge or block proxy connections.
- Amazon — Aggressive detection for automated purchasing, price scraping, and account creation.
- Reddit — Actively detects and blocks proxy-based account creation and automated posting.
- Epic Games — Blocks proxied connections to prevent region-spoofing and unauthorized account access.
- Survey platforms (Five Surveys, Prime Opinion, etc.) — Survey routers specifically detect proxies and VPNs to prevent geographic fraud.
What These Platforms Check
Modern anti-proxy systems look at much more than your IP address:
- Browser fingerprint — Screen resolution, installed fonts, WebGL renderer, canvas fingerprint, and more. If your fingerprint looks "automated" or inconsistent, you will be blocked.
- Reverse DNS — The platform looks up your IP\'s reverse DNS record. If it resolves to a known proxy or hosting provider, it gets flagged.
- TLS fingerprint — The way your browser or tool establishes an encrypted connection has a unique signature. Automated tools often have different TLS fingerprints than real browsers.
- Cookie and session history — Platforms track whether an IP has been used for suspicious activity in the past.
- Behavioral analysis — Mouse movements, scroll patterns, click timing, and navigation speed are analyzed to detect automation.
Our Policy on Platform Blocks
Proxies blocked by specific platforms with aggressive anti-proxy systems are not considered "broken." These platforms are designed to detect and block proxy traffic, and no proxy provider can guarantee 100% compatibility with them.
What You Can Do
- Use ISP proxies — They have a higher success rate than data center proxies on protected platforms.
- Use a supported anti-detect browser — AdsPower, MoreLogin, or MuLogin help maintain consistent browser fingerprints.
- Rotate proxies — If one IP is blocked, try a different one.
- Slow down automation — Rapid-fire requests trigger behavioral detection. Add delays between actions.
- Accept the limitation — Some platforms simply cannot be reliably accessed through any proxy. This is an industry-wide reality, not a ProxyPorts-specific limitation.
